At present, drug-resistance has been a worldwide problem. Pathogens which have resistance to antibiotics emerged widely in hospital and communities, and what's more, multi-resistant organisms resulting from a variety of factors have emerged and extended fast. Many scientists in the world focus on the drug-resistance. The Chinese drugs have special theory and remarkable clinical curative effects which showed their powerful vital force. The components of Chinese drugs are complex. Bacterial resistance to them is not easily produced. Many Chinese drugs have excellent inhibitory activity.Drug-resistance to four kinds of Chinese drugs and seven kinds of western medicine was studied by microcalorimetry. The regularity of resistance was searched primarily. The difference of drug-resistance between Chinese drugs and western medicine is compared. This paper includes four chapters. The first chapter introduces chiefly research status about drug-resistance, Chinese drugs and antibiotics; summarizes development and actuality of thermokinetics and microcalorimetry; represent briefly contents, meaning of the paper. In the second chapter, resistance of E.coli to Chinese drugs was studied. At first the MIC(minimal inhibitory concentration)of every drug was determined. The bacteria were incubated in the concentration which is less than MIC. The power-time curves of the concentration for each incubated bacteria were determined. Based on the data of power-time curves and logistic equation, the growth rate constants(μ) were calculated. The relationship between μ and n was established. The regularity of resistance to Chinese drugs was obtained primarily. In the third chapter, resistance of E.coli to antibiotics was studied, At first the MIC(minimal inhibitory concentration)of every antibiotics was determined. The bacteria were incubated in the concentration which is less than MIC. The power-time curves of the concentration for each incubated bacteria were...
