Objective: To establish the mice and rats model of yang-deficiency and constipation Syndrome; to research treatment effect of the compatibility of Radix et Rhizoma Rhei and Radix Aconiti Lateralis Praeparata on above animal models.Methods: Two animal models are established by the method of administering ice-water active carbon and vinegar by mouth. The model animal's the number and time of excreting stool and the gastroenteric motional function are researched with quantitative and half-quantitative method. The morphologic change on the model animal's stomach, small and large intestine is watched according to HE staining. The gastrin(Gas) , Endothelin (ET), Substance P (SP) , somatastin(SS) and vasoactive intestinal polypeptide(VIP) of the model animals are measured by radioimmunoassay (RIA);its motilin(MTL) and Acetylcholine enzyme (AchE) are determined by spectrophotometry.Results: (1) Two kinds of animal models of yang-deficiency and constipation Syndromehave been established. Compared with the normal groups, the general condition of the model groups is abnormal, Their symptoms are as follows: the puffed and withered hair, crouching together in the corner, the sluggish response , no struggle when seized, black and dry stool, the decreasing of stool' s number and poor appetite, the falling body weight, The small intestine' s moving velocity becomes slower than that of the normal groups (P<0. 01) ; The gastroenteric hormone level of The model animals is abnormal In comparison with the normal groups, the plasma levels of MTL, VIP and ET are lower.
