Objective: To research the effects of Moxibustion on the contents of HA, 5-HT, 5-HIAA, NE, PGE2 of local inflammatory synovial tissues and on pathomorphology of synovial membrane of experimentally-induced rheumatoid arthritis rabbits, so as to approach the effect of antiinflammation of moxibustion on the rabbtis and the mechanism of the effect. Methods: The experiment was performed on Japanese white rabbits, which were randomly divided into normal group, model group and moxibustion group. RA model was established by injecting Freund's Complete Adjuvant (FCA) into both of the knees of the rabbits. Shenshu points were selected, and the targets were measured by fluorimetry, immunoassay and the examination of pathomorphology technique. The targets such as pain threshold, swelling, the contents of HA, 5-HT, 5-HIAA, NE, PGE2 of local inflammatory synovial tissues and the pathomorphology of local tissues in joint. Results: (1) Moxibustion can heighten pain threshold(P<0.01), alleviate swelling(P<0.05), lower the contents of HA, 5-HT, 5-HIAA, NE , PGE2 of local inflammatory synovial tissues significantly(the contents of HA, 5-HIAA are down trend; 5-HT, NE P<0.05; in the expression of PGE2, the area-, integral light density and average dark...
