In the last 20 years, active oxygen and free radical have become the hot topics of modern life science and appraisal and selection of natural resources with strong antioxidative activities have become the new trends of biology, medical science and food science and technology. As an important resource for human beings, bee pollen is an important source for the development of natural antioxidants due to its rich natural flavones. The optimum extraction conditions were determined by orthogonal test. The antioxidative activities effects in vitro of bee pollen extracts was studied by using the three kinds of free radicals and lipid peroxidantion that were produced by chemical methods. The flavones of bee pollen were purified by using kinds of resin and the relation of purification and the impact of antioxidative activities was appraised to purification of the bee pollen ' flavoniod .The main results were as follows:1. The optimum extraction conditions determined by orthogonal test were:material: bee pollen; solvent: 60% ethanol; temperature:50℃; and extraction time:15min.2. The ethanol extracts of five kinds of bee pollen showed stronger scavenging effects on hydroxyl free radical and l,l-diPhenyl-2-picrylhyrazyl free radical and restraining lipidperoxidantion. The bee pollen of buckwheat extracts showed strong scavenging effects on the antioxidation of superoxidized anionic and the bee pollen of tea showed strong inhibitory effect on the hydroxyl radical and the bee pollen of rape extracts showed strong inhibitory effect on the lipid peroxidantion.3: All extractions obtained by using different of solvents, such as water, alcohol, methanol have the power to scavenge on free radicals, with the order of methanol, alcohol, water.4: By comparing static and dynamic absorption performance, we found that macropore adsorptive resin AB-8 had highest performance in absorbing flavones. After absorption and purification by AB-8, the extraction of bee pollen have great improvement of power scavenging on free radicals.
