Malignant ascites is a common complicatiaon of malignant tumaor. It indicates that the tumor has already spread partly or all over the body,which threatens the lives of the patients.At present ,there is no effective way to cure such a disease.The therapies of western medicine brings about many toxic and side effects.And Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) plays a special way in the treatment of advanced tumor,which can effectively improve the clinical syndromes and minimize the toxic and side effects of western medicine.According to the theory of TCM,the deficiency of spleen and the blockage of Qi can lead to malignant ascites on a great extent.Wu pi decoction is organized on the base of the theory of TCM,which can strengthen spleen , benefit Qi,promote the circulation of Qi and alleviate water retention. But we have not found relative reports about Wu pi decoction in treating malignant ascites in clicical research.Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of adding Wu pi Decoction cooperating therapy of highly agglutinative staphylococcin(HASL) in treatment of malignant ascites against the therapy of HASL singly.Methods:Fifty-eight patients with malignant ascites are randomly divided into two groups and treated with HASL plus adding Wu pi Decoction(28 cases) and HASL singly(30cases).Results:(1) Comparison of catabatic and steady rate:The steady rate of HASL plus adding Wu pi Decoction group is significantly higher than that of HASL group (P<0.05)while the catabatic rate shows no significant differences between the two groups (P>0.05).(2) Comparison of the quality of life(QOL): the QOL between the two groups shows significant statistical difference(P<0.05).QOL of the adding Wu pi Decoction cooperating HASL group is better than the groups of HASL.(3) Comparison of clinical syndromes: The adding Wu pi Decoction cooperating HASL group is better than the groups of HASL in this aspect,chich shows significant statistical difference(P<0.05).(4) Comparison of toxic and side effects:The occurance of toxic and side...
