| At present adult hypertension morbidity rate is 18.8% in our country, the national patients of hypertension already reach 1.6 hundred millions, moreover, it is rapidly increased more than six millions hypertension patients annually. This disease is threatening people's health and life seriously. Heart is the organ which is the most easily damaged by hypertension. The main pathology change is left ventricular remodeling, which is an independent cardiovascular risk factor. It leads to the decrease of heart systolic and diastolic function and the development of cardia failure eventually; and besides it leads to the decrease of reserve capacity of coronary circulation, which easily promotes myocardial ischemia, cardiac arrhythmia and sudden death etc. Therefore, the reversion of left ventricular remodeling and the improvement of coronary circulation have already been the main objects of anti-hypertension.Objective: To estimate the effect of JiangyaMaijing fluid(JYMJ) on left ventricular remodeling of Spontaneously hypertensive rat; and furthermore to explore the working mechanism of preventing left ventricular remodeling .Methods: Animal and Group: 8-week-old SHRs were randomly divided into 4 groups: model control group (SHR treated with distilled water), treatment group (treated with JYMJ and Amlodipine), Western medicine control group (treated with Amlodipine only), Chinese medicine control group (treated with Niuhang hypertension pills and Amlodipine), each group consisted of 10 rats, and 10 normal 8-week-old SD rats were used as negative control (treated with distilled water).Drug:①JiangyaMaijing fluid (consisted of Herba Taxilli, Semen Cassiae, Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae, kudzuvine root etc) was made solution of 1.3g/ml.②the concentration of Amlodipine was 0.2mg/ml distilled water.③the concentration of Niuhang hypertension pills was 19.5 mg/ml distilled water. Above three drugs were administrated with 1ml/100g body weight per day. The interval of intragastric administration of Chinese and Western medicine was 4 hours. The course of treatment was 20 weeks. After 20-week treatment, we measured heart weight index (HW/BW) to estimate the degree of left ventricular hypertrophy; we also measured myocardium collagen volume fraction (CVF) and perivascular collagen area (PVCA) to make a quantitative analysis of the degree of myocardium interstitial fibrosis; we observed the change of pathology in myocardium pathological section with HE and Sirius Red staining method.
