| Hypertension is one of common cardiovascular diseases. It has been confirmed that hypertension has high morbidity rate, induces complications of the heart, brain, kidney etc. and has very high disablement rate. Therefore, it becomes a highlight subject how to prevent and treat hypertension and the injury caused by hypertension to the target organs. The aim of this study is to analyze the correlation between the typing of dipper and nondipper EH patients and the differentiation of symptoms and signs of EH patients based on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and distribution characters. Compared the data such as systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), pulse pressure (PP), pulse pressure index (PPI), mean arterial pressure (MAP) and the relevant injure of the heart, brain, kidney etc. with the differentiation of symptoms and signs of both dipper EH and nondipper EH based on retrospective analytical method. Statistical software, SPSS 12.0 For Windows was used in all data analysis, single factor analysis was used in the differentiation of symptoms and signs, chi square test was used for enumeration data, and independent sample T test and analysis of variation were used for measurement data. The results showed that 119 EH patients suffered from target organ injure and relevant injure taking up 71. 7% of 166 EH patients and the occurrence of target organ injure and relevant injure in nondipper EH patients was significantly higher than that in dipper EH patients (P<0.05). There was different distribution of differentiation of symptoms and signs based on TCM between dipper and nondipper EH. The occurrence of hyperactivity of yang due to yin deficiency and deficiency of both yin and yang type in nondipper EH patients was more common than that in dipper EH patients (P<0.05). The occurrence of complications of deficiency of both yin and yang type was significantly higher than that of other types of differentiation of symptoms and signs of TCM (P<0.05). There was significant difference in mean night systolic blood pressure and in mean night diastolic blood pressure between dipper EH patients and nondipper EH patients (P<0.01); additionally, the pulse pressure difference of 24h average, during daytime and night in nondipper EH patients was significantly higher than that in dipper EH patients (P<0.05). the 24h average systolic pressure, average diastolic pressure and average arterial pressure in flaring liver-fire type patients was higher than that in hyperactivity of yang due to yin deficiency, deficiency of both yin and yang and abundant phlegm-dampness type patients and there was significant difference between them (P<0.05); however, the 24h average pulse pressure difference and mean pulse index as well as nigh pulse pressure difference and nigh mean pulse index in deficiency of both yin and yang type... |
