Objective: To explore the treatment function and mechanism of Tan Wei capsule on the C57BL/6 mice with experimental autoimmune myasthenia gravis (EAMG) . The guidelines include clinical symptoms, body weight, the titers of acetylcholine receptor antibody (AChR-Ab), interleukin-4 (IL-4) and transgrowth factor-β1 (TGF-β1)in serum.Methods: 90 healthy and female C57BL/6 mice were divided to three groups randomly: EAMG group (70) ,normal group (10) and complete freund's adjuvant (CFA) group (10) .Every mouse in EAMG group was injected hypodermically with acetylcholine receptor alfragment 129-145 (15μg) in CFA (200μL) twice-the first and forth week, those in CFA group were only injected with CFA ( 200μL) at the same time, and no treatment was given to those in normal group. Only successful EAMG models in EAMG group, which were identified by the the titers of AChR-Ab, clinical symptoms and the percentage of decrement of repetitive nerve stimulation(RNS),were divided into 5 groups randomly: high dosage (5.6g/kg·d), medium dosage (2.8g/kg·d) and low dosage (1.4g/kg·d) of Tan Wei capsule, prednison group (10mgAg·d) ,model control group (without medication) .TanWei capsule and prednison was given from stomach once a day. Four weeks later, the mice were killed.Body weight and clinical symptoms were evaluated.ELISA were adopted to determine the titers of AChR-Ab , IL-4, TGF- β 1 in serum. Results: There were 41 successful EAMG models of 70 C57BL/6 mice. EAMG models were easy to fatigue. The weights of them reduced .The results of the percentage of decrement of RNS and the titers of AChR-Ab had significent difference from normal mice.The results of study on pharmcodynamics of TanWei capsule were as below: TanWei capsule could improve clinical symptoms,increase body weight,increase the titers of TGF-β1 and decrease titers of AChR-Ab , IL-4.
