The Pathogenesis Of Chronic Osteomyelitis, And Treatment Progress

PURPOSE: 1. To explore the mechanism of chronic osteomyelitis and treatment;2.To evaluate of the clinical efficacy and advantages to treat chronic osteomyelitis with Tuolixiaodusan.METHODS: 1.To review and evaluate the mechanism and treatment of chronicosteomyelitis on both Western Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine;2.We collect 13 cases of chronic osteomyelitis patients which are given orally or externally with Chinese medicine for average 2-6 months, 14 days per course. Follow-up study to observe the relapse.RESULTS: 1.Both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine has made more apparent efficiency in the treatment of chronic osteomyelitis;2.Tuolixiaodusan has the advantages of good efficacy, low relapse rates and cheaper.CONCLUSIONS: 1 .Chronic osteomyelitis is caused by purulence bacteria, whichhas symptoms like chronic inflammation with marrow, periosteum and osseous; bone necrosis, fistula and tube formation with pus, easy relapsing ,can be divided into blood factors type and the traumatic type; 2.TCM has good efficacy, seldom side effects, low relapse rates and cheaper in treatment chronic osteomyelitis based on differentiation;3.The tendency is to further study the mechanism and treatment of chronic osteomyelitis in the coming years;4.Tuolixiaoduyin has the advantages like good efficacy, cheap expense in the treatment of chronic osteomyelitis, so it has economic and social benefits to further study this formula.
