OBJECTIVETo define the relationship of symtoms. physical signs of alopecia patients and the differentiation for syndrome classification, and to make it be more scientific and standard. To make the relationship of emotion hyperritabilities and differentiations for syndrome classification clear.METHOD110 indentified patients with alopecia areata(AA) were studied by questionnaire. The survey of body symptoms based on the diagnosis in TCM and the symptom checklist 90 (SCL-90) were performed, at the same time, 30 the healthy got the survey of SCL-90. and then, put all datas into data base for statistics.RESULT1. Four factors which are corresponding to the key elements of syndrome have been found by factor analysis and principal component analysis. The related coefficient of subordinate symptom index and traditional Chinese clinical diagnosis of alopecia is from 0.642 to 0.969, and the related coefficient of accompanying symptom index and traditional Chinese clinical diagnosis of alopecia is from 0.536 to 0.923. So we can explain why there are so many flexible diagnosises of alopecia in traditional Chinese medicine. At the same time, 4 types diagnosises are not enough and can not correctly reflect the reality. So we take a new method which takes alopecia for 4 kinds according to their pathogenesis in traditional Chinese medicine.2. Emotion hyperritabilities for alopecia patients are almost fixed, as for unhealthy emotianal factors affect every type of alpecia areata in traditional Chinese medicine are also fixed, meanwhile, they have differences. And we have found there are no differences among all types in emotional index. We have found that all emotional factors have no sexual distionction except the factor about anxiety, and with step further researchs, we have found it has special group distribution which is refer to the paticular type in traditional Chinese medicine.
