Scutellaria barbata D.Don is common-used traditional Chinese medicine. It has the effects of clearing heat and detoxification. The reseach of contemporary pharmacology shows that the coarse extraction, effective parts and effective monomer of Scutellaria barbata D.Don have the pharmacologic activities of anti bacteria, antimutation, antiinflammation, antifebris, antioxidation, antitumor and accommodating immunity.This paper reviews the research described so far Scutellaria barbata D.Don profile and highlight the development of traditional Chinese medicine fingerprint technology.In this paper to determine the optimum extraction Scutellaria barbata D.Don flavonoids on the basis of a further purification,exploration of the alkali - soluble acid,soluble impurity removal,acid soluble impurity removal,finalized a macroporous resin content of flavonoids in Scutellaria barbata D.Don impurity removal will make on the basis of 50% to 80% increase.To study the determination method of the Banzhilian(Herba Scutellaria Barbata)。 The fingerprint of Scutellaria barbata D.Don with 13 common peaks was established by study of 10 different sources. Estimation the fingerprint by the similarity analysis of HPLC fingerprints spectra.The result of comparability was between 0.985~0.744.The similarity was good.The fingerprint can be used to distinguish Scutellaria barbata D.Don medicinal materials.The advantage of this method is the simple extraction and the most chemic component can be separated very well by HPLC.This method has good stability repeatability and feasibility. Therefore it provides scientific reference and effective determining ways for the quality control of Scutellaria barbata D.Don medicinal materials.Fingerprints of Scutellaria barbata D.Don mainly study Scutellaria barbata D.Don flavones compounds.Because of all the known components of the reference substance which was not entirely to find.In order to make the various components of the ingredients have a more distinct identification.Scutellaria barbata D.Don in HPLC fingerprint identified on the basis of high performance liquid chromatography/quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry(LC/Q-TOF-MS) identified its 13 common peaks.Basic identification ten components in 13 common peaks. One peak of them could not be identified using mass Spectrometry methods. Tow components of them have not been reports in the study of Scutellaria barbata D.Don.On phytochemistry study,finding an isolated monomer.There are two relatively high content of polar compounds as not quite chromatography separation means,So to be further studied.
