Cultural Construction Of Lifeline Hospital Practice

Hospital culture stems from corporate culture. As a special social organization, hospital culture refers to the total of fundamental beliefs, values, moral codes, lifestyles, the socio-cultural environments and the appropriate behavior patterns with distinct hospital characteristics evolved under specific national cultural heritage.The 21st century is a culture-oriented century, and the hospitals are no exception. The competition between hospitals has shifted from the simple technical level to the cultural level due to the profound changes of the external existence and development environment. So, the practice of cultural construction, which conforms to the trend of the times and the environmental changes, is vital to the elevation of core competence and market compatibility of the hospital.In this article, the general idea of hospital culture construction in Puji hospital is outlined and put into practice with the aid of corporate culture construction theory and enterprise image planning theory on the basis of systematically analysis on the internal and external environments of Puji hospital. During the practice of Puji hospital culture construction, with the analysis and research of hospital culture theory and the analysis of the relationship between CI operating principle and hospital culture construction, it is realized that a bridge should be built up between CI and hospital culture construction. An ideal model of hospital culture can be constructed with the aid of the basic principle of CI introduction and maintenance and then it can direct the culture construction of a new hospital. In contrast to the MI, BI and VI of CI, we advance the hospital culture construction on 3 levels (spiritual culture, institutional culture and material culture) and have gained preliminary achievements. The success of our practice has explored a reasonable way for the hospital culture construction in China.
