The whole paper includes two parts: literature review and clinical study.The first part contains two chapters. Chapter 1:"the Overview of the Clinical Features and Treatment of Ulcerative Colitis (UC)by Chinese and/or Western Medicine during a period from 2002 to 2007 in mainland China",a compiled analysis of UC in mainland China. First to learn the clinical features of UC, then to list the treatment of UC by Chinese and/or Western Medicine. Chapter 2:"the Review of the Treatment and Experimental Study of UC by moxibusion."The author summarized the domestic articles about the treatment of UC by moxibustion in view of moxibustion with ginger, drug-separated moxibustion, and other therapies combination with moxibustion. Also reviewed the update experimental study of the disease, held that moxibustion was an effective therapy to UC.In clinical study part, objective curative effect of Yang deficiency of the spleen and kidney by moxibustion with ginger. Methods to select 8 patients corresponding to the UC and Yang deficiency of the spleen and kidney. Then using the method of moxibustion with ginger on the urinary bladder meridian of foot-taiyang for 15 days. Result the effective rate after 15 days was 100%. Conclution the treatment of Yang deficiency of the spleen and kidney of UC by moxibustion with ginger is effective and safe. It also brings out a pragmatic and convenient race hygiene for the patients.It is worth to be extended.
