Anxiety, also known as anxiety neurosis, is a widespread and persistent anxiety or recurrent neural trepidation. As the main feature obstacles, it sometimes accompanied by dizziness, chest tightness, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, dry mouth, urinary frequency, urgency, sweating, tremor, autonomic symptoms and exercise-induced tension. It shows an unclear, unobjective and no target specific content of fear and uneasy feeling. Epidemiological studies have shown that anxiety disorders will happen among the urban people in their lifetime, and the number of the person is approximate 4.1% to 6.6% .The preparation is composed of four Chinese herbal, Curcuma wenyujin Y.H.Chen et C.Ling, Radix Astragali ,Valeriana pseudofficinalis C.Y.Cheng et H.H.Chen, Panax ginseng C.A.Mey , Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch.This medicine is used to the treat generalized anxiety disorder.This paper consists of two parts, the first part is the literature review, and the second one is experimental study.1. Literature reviewTo review the articles about the research and the raw materials.To Show the types of anxiety disorders and to introduce its etiology in Chinese and Western theory. To demonstrate the current status of the treatment for anxiety disorders in traditional Chinese and western medicine,and introduced the flavor ingredients in the preparation of chemical constituents and pharmacological effect.2. Experimental StudyThe pharmaceutical research of KangJiao capsule, includes three sections: technology, quality Standard and stability. The results are as follows:2.1 TechnologyThis part includs the study of the experiment and the process of technology which includs extraction, drying, particle shape, packaging materials and test. Finally confirm a process of extracting with ethanol.And using the best conditions we get three groups of qualified products.2.2 Quality Standard of KangJiao CapsulesWe apply the technique of TLC to identify the Anemarrhena asphodeloides Bge, Valeriana pseudofficinalis C.Y.Cheng et H.H.Chen, Panax ginseng C.A.Mey. In this prescription, we use the RP-HPLC-ELSD to determine the content of Sarsasapogenin. Sarsasapogenin has a good linearity within the range of 1.232～6.160μg, logY=5.4712+1.5699logX,r=0.9999. The average recovery is 100.75% and RSD=0.91%(n=6).2.3 Stability of KangJiao CapsulesPut samples in room temperature for three months and then detected.All samples were no significant changes. The agents showed good stability.
