In this thesis 15 compounds were isolated from the leave of Panaxnotoginseng (Burk.)F. H. Chen by modern technologies of extraction, isolation,purification and identification,such as AB-8 macroporous absorption resin(MAR), silica gel-column chromatography, R-phase high performance liquid(RP-HPLC-UV-ELSD) and re-crystal.he structures of 15 compounds have beenestablished and 14 compounds have identified on the basis of physico-chemicaland spectrographic evidence in the leave of Panax notoginseng(Burk.)F. H. Chen.Theywereginsenoside-Rb1(Ⅰ), ginsenoside-Rb3(Ⅱ), ginsenoside-Rd(Ⅲ), ginsenoside-Re(Ⅳ), ginsenoside-Rg1(Ⅴ), ginsenoside-Rg2(Ⅵ), 20(R)-ginsenoide-Rg3(Ⅶ), daucosterine(Ⅷ), 20(R)-protopanaxadiol(Ⅸ), 20(R)-protopanaxatriol(Ⅹ), 20(R)-dammarane-3β, 12β, 20, 25-tetrol(Ⅺ), 20(R)-dammarane-α, 3β, 6α, 12β, 20, 25-pentol (Ⅻ), dammarane-20 (22) en-3β, 12β, 26-panaxatriol(ⅩⅢ)20, (S) -25-methoxyl-dammarane-3β, 12β, 20-triol and compound(ⅩⅣ) and (ⅩⅤ).It is the first time to study systematically on the anticancer activity of25-OH-PPD, one of the hydrolysates from Panax notoginseng Leaves. It isindicated in the results that 25-OH-PPD showed obvious inhibition activity ontumor cells by used four cell system including breast cancer cells, lung cancercells and prostatic carcinoma cells. As the result, the IC50 values in the most cellsystems are between 10mM and 60 mM, and the inhibition activity of25-OH-PPD on the tumor cell growth is 5~15 times higher than ginsenoside Rg3,which is used abroad domestically to inhibit the growth of tumor at present.
