Medical Device Design Psychology Research

In recent years, the application of design psychology principles in the industrialdesign is more and more concerned by designer. Various ideas of modern design havelaunched by scholar and designers, such as human-oriented design, humanization designand usability engineering etc. The purposes of these methodologies and theories lie intelling us the essentiality of customer research and the transformation of the design focus.For the design of medical instrument, it is significant to consider the psychology ofcustoms in the process of product development, in order to lessen the patient's fear anddecrease the operation error of doctor and nurse.In this thesis, under the instruction of design psychology principles, the questionnaireand interview are made, which is aim at the target customer of medical instrument (doctorand nurse, patients, hospital managers). The characteristics of custom's psychology as wellas the impact of using process on the design of medical instrument are analyzed deeply, asa result, the weakness of existing medical instrument can be found. Finally, the principlesof human-oriented and usability can be utilized for summarizing the application law ofdesign psychology in product design as well as some related principles for medicalinstrument design.
