Fagopyrum dibotrys (D.Bon) Hara, is a medicinal plant belonging to Fagopyrum genus, Polygonaceae. There are 15 species in the world, and 8 of 15 species in China and 4 in 15 to care disease. Fagopyrum plants distribute in the high and cold mountain regions of Northwest, Northeast, Southwest and North China. The plants resources are very abundant. Most of them can clear away heat and detoxicate toxity, and some of them cound cure various diseases. Modern pharmacologic study identified that the constitution extracting from Fagopyrum have obviously effect on anti-tumor,declining the blood-sugar and regulating blood fat,anti-rheumatism. So they are good anti-cancer, declining the blood-sugar and regulating blood fat , anti-rheumatism medicine. On the other way, they also have effect on antibiosis, anti-inflammatory, antibechic, resolving phlegm and relieving pains.The chemical study on Fagopyrum plants identify that the flavonoid compounds in Fagopyrum have extensive physiologic activity ,such as antibiosis, anti-inflammatory, declining the blood-sugar and regulating fat, resist anti-rheumatism. Diabetes,hyperlipoproteinemia and rheumatism which are become the serious diseases deteriorating human health,and the Fagopyrum plants can cure these diseases well. So, there is an extensive market foreground for exploiting some new medicines of antibiosis, anti-inflammatory.Currently, there are still many medicinal plants in Fagopyrum which have not been studied further, We should catch on the opportunity to exploit them, and enhance the protection, develop and utilize the resources of the medicinal plants.F. dibotrys is one kind of the medicinal plants in China. Its previous study identified that it has good antibiosis, anti-inflammatory activity. In this paper we worked on its isolation, structure elucidation and quality control as the basis of the antibiosis research.We use solvent and chromatographic methods to extract and isolate the effective constituents.We get thirteen compounds from it and identify them as trans-p-hydroxy cinnamic methyl ester,protocatechuic acid methyl ester,luteolin,succinic acid, quercetin,3,4-dihydroxy benzamide,(-)-epicatechin,quercitrin,daucosterol,n-butyl-β-D-frutopyronoside,hesperitin,rutin,protocatechuic acid by the physical, chemical and IR,1H-NMR,13C-NMR,MS spectrum. Among them, hesperitin was isolated from Fagopyrum for the first time.The chromatographic fingerprint of Fagopyrum dibotrys (D.Bon) has been set up by HPLC for 10 batches of herbs collected in different regions. 18 common peaks in the fringerprint of Fagopyrum dibotrys (D.Bon) Hara were indicated. The method is stable, well repeated and provides scientific indexes for of Fagopyrum dibotrys (D.Bon) Hara.The research enrichs the study of Fagopyrum plants and provides scientific reference for developing Fagopyrum plants.
