Ning Tang, Chinese Medicine Intestinal Ulcerative Colitis In Rats Tnf-¦Á And Il-10

AIM:To observe the effect of a Chinese herb "chang ning tang(CNT)" onproinflammtory cytokines tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-a) andimmunosuppressive cytokine IL-10 of rats with ulcerative colitis (UC), and comparethe therapeutic effect of CNT with solfasalazine(SASP)METHODS:①Totally 78 healthy male SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups:CNT group,SASP group and model group with 22 in each group, normal group with12. Except rats in normal group, rats in other three groups were established UCmodels with local enema of 2.4-chlorodinitrobenzene immune and acetic acid.②CNT group: Rats in CNT group were peffused with 2 ml CNT fluid, once a day.Decoction in which raw drug contents were 200g/L, were prepared based on CNTwith the traditional method. SASP group: Rats in SASP group were perfused with 2ml SASP once a day after modeling. Model group: Rats were perfused with 2 mlsaline once a day for 28 days. normal group: blank group③On the 31th day,contents of cytokines contents of IL-10 and TNF-alpha were detected byradioimmunoassay.④All data were analyzed with t test a- nd variance analysis(q-test).RESULTS:①Contents of TNF-a: Contents in model group were higher than those innormal group(P＜0.01), those in SASP group and CNT group were lower than thosein model group (P＜0.01), and those in CNT group were lower than those in SASPgroup (P＜0.01).②Content of IL—10: Content in model group was lower than that innormal group (P＜0.01), that in SASP group and CNT group was higher than that inmodel group (P＜0.01), and that in CNT group was higher than that in SASP group＜0.05).CONCLUSION:CNT can up—regulate anti-inflammation cytokine IL-10 and down-regulateproinflammtory cytokines TNF-a so as to recovery immunological function of UC rats. Effect of CNT on UC is superior to that of SASP.
