Objective: discussing the clinical syndromes of 88 Narcolepsy from the traditional Chinese medicine perspective, so as to provide grounds for clinical treatment.Methods: 88 Narcolepsy insomniac clinical cases were collected and analysed using current clinical standards.Statistical evaluation tests were then carried out by a team of clinical specialists.Result: The results showed that the most distinctive symptom for Narcolepsy was that excessive daytime sleepiness(88). And all of them Think more sleepness than other nomoral person.The other accompanied symptoms included the cataplexy (73),Episodes may be triggered by sudden emotional reactions such as laughter, anger, surprise, or fear, and may last from a few seconds to several minutes. Even leading complete body collapse(38) or having muscular spasms(2).There are less persons have hypnagogic hallucinations(29) sleep paralysis(27).Though the analysis on syndrome differentiation, clinical symptom complexes were summarised as follows: spleen deficiency With dampnesse ncumbrance(53), spleen dampness-heat(9), spleen deficiency and liver hyperactivity,spleen-kidney yang deficiency(4), turbid phlegm covering the qing orifices (6), stasis resistance brain orifices(4) gallbladder heat and Phlegm Disturbing Brain(5).Conclusion: 1.The typical symptoms of narcolepsy are excessive daytime sleepiness, Cataplexy, hypnagogic hallucinations and sleep paralysis.2.Disease character of NC were mostly asthenia in origin and sthenia in superficiality, asthenia in origin was spleen deficiency, involed in kidney, spleen-kidney yang deficiency. Asthenia in origin was qi stagnation, phlegm-dampness, damp-heat, phlegm-heat, blood stasis, and involves the spleen, liver, kidney , gallbladder and brian.
