Changes In Vegf Levels In The Hyperlipidemia Rat Corpus Cavernosum Of Nos And Co,

Objective: To investigate the effects of VEGF on NOS and CO in corpus cavernosum of rats model of hypercholesterolemia.Methods:Thirty-two male wistar rats were divided randomly into two groups, hyperchole- sterolemia group and control group.We produce the hypercholesterolemic model with these rats. After ten days and twenty days,a half of each group were selected respectively for testing erecti- le function. VEGF in the penis was examined by SABC immunhistochemistry staining; NOS and CO were detected with ultraviolet spectrophotometer.Results:Significant difference exists in erection frequency and content of VEGF,NOS,CO between hypercholesterolemia group and control group(P<0.05).It was also of signific- ant difference in erection frequency and content of VEGF,NOS,CO in two hypercholesterol- emia groups(P<0.05).Conclusion: NOS and CO in corpus cavernosum can be dramatically affected by VEGF in rats model of hypercholesterolemia.The decreasing of VEGF, NOS and CO may be one of the mechanisms underlying erectile dysfunction in hyperlipidemia subjects.
