Myrica nana Cheval(Myricaceae) is an evergreen shrub, native to Yunnan, Guizhou,Sichuang and Xizang Provinces of P.R.China.Its roots, barks and fruits are used for Chinese folk medicine, and its fruits are edible. Its roots are used for the treatment of dysentery, diarrhea, dyspepsia, uterine bleeding, hemoproctia, archocele, beriberoid disease and bums.It has been reported that flavonoids, diarylheptanoids, triterpenoids, tannins and volatile oil have been isolated from other Myricaceae plants, such as M.rubra,M.arborea,M.gale and so on.However, the information on the chemical constituents of the roots of this plant is still scarce. In due to find the chemical consitituents that relate to pharmacodynamic action,we investigated for chemical constituents by chemical and spectroscopic analysis. And we will research on the pharmacological effect in the future.By phytochemical research,twenty-three compounds, including diarylheptanoids, Triterpenoids, fatty acid and sterol, were isolated from the ethyl acetate-soluble part of 95%ethnol extract of M.nana, and identified eight compounds(myricanone, myficanol, porson, myricananone, myricananadiol, maslinic acid,Arjunolic acid, myricanadiol),among which three compounds(myricananone, myricananadiol and myricanadiol )were new.The investigation of myrica plant were reviewed in the last charter of this dissertation, which include plant morpholopy, chemical constitutes, pharmacologic action, and assay method.
