Houttuynia Injection Listing And Then Evaluate

Objective: To systematically review the safety, effectiveness and pharmacoeconomics of Hertleaf Houttuynia Herb injection. Through the study,it chould provide the evidence on developing and exploiting Hertleaf Houttuynia Herb injection. And further explore a feasible post-marketing reevaluation method of traditional Chinese medicine injection.Methods: (1)VIP,CNKI database of included studies were searched for randomized controlled trails(RCTs) and quasi-randomized controlled trails (Quasi-RCT) on the effectiveness of Hertleaf Houttuynia Herb injection for treating respiratory apparatus infection. Meta-analysis was done by Revman 4.2 offered by cochrane. (2) Searched the published literatures about the ADRs of Hertleaf Houttuynia Herb injection by in-dropping over the past 10 years (1998-2007). According to systematic review and ADRs study methods, classified those into 3 groups: the paralled control clinical trial group (Control trial group), the ADRs monitor and the case analysis group( Monitor and analysis group), the case report group(Case report group). Sorted out and quantitative analyzed these data. All results of the incidence, the types, and the frequence of each type of ADRs were statistically analyzed. (3) To retrospectively review the cost-effectiveness by searching the published literatures of CNKI, VIP, and provide evidence for decision-making in use of Hertleaf Houttuynia Herb injection.Results: (1)Evaluation of the effectiveness:981 papers were searched and 23 papers (included 3604 participants) met inclusion criteria. Meta-analysis of the 23 papers showed thatχ~2=21.14, P=0.51>0.05,and a total of 23 studies is in the same level.we used the fixed effect model meta-analysis showed that OR = 3.85, 95% CI=3.06~ 4.83.It showed that it was significantly effective that compared to interventions without antiviral therapy. (2)Safety evaluation: In Control trial group, the average ADRs rates were2.78%;in Monitor and analysis group,the average ADRs rates were 0.83%. The main ADRs of Hertleaf Houttuynia Herb injection were allergic reaction followed by recirculating system and respiratory system reaction. The main clinical symptoms were chest distress, cardiopalmus, pallescence; dyspnea, asthma, ets, and nausea, disgorging, abdominal pain were incidental. Three patients were died of allergic shock. Several kinds of reactions do not report in the drug labeling. (3)To evaluate the cost-effectiveness on therapyⅠ,therapyⅡand therapyⅢin which drugs including Hertleaf Houttuynia Herb injection, Ribavirin injection and Shuanghuanglian injection for treating respiratory system infection. The costs for the 3 therapy were 199.2 yuan, 137.9 yuan and 130.2 yuan, respectively; the total effectiverates were 96.1%,85.6% and 93.7%, respectively; the cost-effectiveness ratios of the 3 were 2.07, 1.62 and 1.39, respectively. Among these three therapies, therapyⅠand therapyⅢwere more effective than therapyⅡin terms of their efficacy and therapyⅢwas the best one in terms of their overall cost-effectiveness ratios.Conclusion: Available evidence shows that Hertleaf Houttuynia Herb injection has effectiveness. The cost-effectiveness analysis confirmed that Hertleaf Houttuynia Herb is not the preferred option in the treatment of respiratory system infection. Hertleaf Houttuynia Herb injection should be used with more care owing to the adversere actions.
