Objective:To investigate the Clinical treatment efficiency of dendritic cells(DC) on the middle or advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods: Among 57 cases of middle or advanced hepaticalcar cinoma from March 2003 to December 2006 were grouped randomly ,29 cases of group DC and 28 cases of group TACE were given DC-therapy and transcatheter arterial infusionchemoembolization(TACE) respectively. The DC group were given injection of DCs which had been cultivated and multiplied and more sensitive for the stimulating of pieces decomposed of carcinoma cells, one time one week, the total four times. The TACE group were given transcatheter arterial infusion chemoembolization(TACE),2-4 weeks as a period , the total 2-4 periods. To observe the symptoms and signs and the changes of the quality of life(include abdominal pain, abdominal windy, hypodynamia ,the pain in the liver area ,appetite and sleep etc.),AFP and the changes of images(MR or CT). Results: The Clinical treatment efficiency of the group DC and TACE are similar in AFP and changes of images (P>0.05) .but the disappearing rate of portal vein embolism of tumor and hypodynamia and appetite are different (P<0.05) .Conclusions: DC-therapy is a new and good method in treating patients with middle or advanced hepatical carcinoma, the efficiency is similar to TACE or more effective than TACE in some aspects, and DC-therapy have no the side effecs of the chemotherapy drugs.
