Measurement And Comparison Of Age-related Macular Degeneration, Macular Thickness

Objective:To analyze the macular thickness change of patients with age-related macuiar degeneration(AMD) by optical coherence tomography(OCT) and to explore using of OCT in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) diagnosis on AMD.Methods:OCT was used to measure the macular thinkess of 10 healthy subjects(12 eyes) named normal group and AMD patients(33 person 39 eyes) diagnosed by fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA) were divided into wet type(16 person,19eyes) named wet type group and dry type(17person,20 eyes) named dry type group.The difference of macular thinkess including neuroepitheliμm layer thickness(RNL) and choriocapill-Bruch's membrane-retinal pigment epithelium complex(CBRC) among the healthy subjects and AMD patients were compared and statistically analyzed by SPSS 12.0.Result:The thickness of CBRC:128.34±31.75μm in wet type group, 82.35±17.94μm in dry type group,and 81.53±9.38μm in normal group.The thickness of CBRC between the wet type group and other groups has distinguished statistically(P＜0.05);The thickness of CBRC between the dry type group and the normal group has dramastically difference(P＞0.05).The thickness of RNL is 286.42±56.95μm in wet type group,227.43±11.41μm in normal group and 211.77±15.35μm in dry type group.The thickness of RNL between the wet type group and the other two groups has statistical difference(P＜0.05);The thickness of foveola between the dry type group and the normal group has significant difference(P＜0.05).Conclusion:(1) RNL thickness and CBRC thickness of wet AMD patients increasing with the development of lesions.Macular center and RNL thickness of dry AMD patients decreasing with the development of lesions.OCT is a relatively mature tomography technology,which can enlarge the awareness and understand of the diagnosis。(2) RNL thickness and CBRC thickness can be used for AMD TCM Differential Treatment of an objective quantitative indicators,to some extent,and can be sent to guidance Syndrome drug,which is AMD's early detection and proper treatment,reduce residual Blind,is of great significance。...
