The first part of the article is the summary of the cognition and treatment to hemorrhoid from traditional Chinese Medicine. Then the "anal cushions theory" is discoursed in the second part which is the theoretical basis for PPH surgery. The "anal cushions" is specifically explained on anatomical, physiological and pathological aspects. After a careful study on the history and development of PPH surgery, I summarized its theory, adaptation disease, the surgical standard and the complications it may cause. I focus on the cause of post PPH surgery complications from traditional Chinese medical theory. The resource of MuxiangTongliTang and as a prescription its effectiveness is discussed in my study.Objective:study on the effectiveness of MuxiangTongliTang for post PPH surgery complications.Methods:60 patients who had PPH surgery (from year 2008 to 2010) were selected and divided into two groups of 30. Group A takes MuxiangTongliTang together with the standard procedure for post PPH surgery patients. Group B undergoes clyster with metronidazole together with the standard procedure for post PPH surgery patients. Four aspects are mainly tested and analyzed:on degrees that patients describe about the their pain, swelling, bleeding and retention of urine on the date 2,3,5 and 7 after the surgery. Spss13.0 statistics software is used to present accurate statistics. Rank sum test of independent samples is used for quantity data. And Chi-square test is used for calculating.Results:Group A as the trial group verses Group B as the control group.①Bleeding:There is no statistic difference between Group A and Group B;②Swelling:Statistics shows that Group A swells less serious than Group B;③Pain:Group A suffers less pain than Group B;④Retention of Urine:There is no statistic difference between two Groups.Conclusion:MuxiangTongliTang does help patients dealing with complications occurred after PPH surgery, It has effects of acesodyne, regulation of vital energy and diminution of swelling. Thus it has its significance for clinical experiment.
