Personality Characteristics Of Patients With Anxiety Disorders, The Type Of Behavior And Tcm Syndromes Regular Preliminary Study

Abstract/Summary:
Objective:The aim of our research was to study the personality characteristics of anxiety disorders, the type of behavior and the relationship between insomnia and anxiety, and to study the factors of anxiety occurred from the perspective of etiology. Otherwise, it discussed the anxiety syndromes of characteristics of TCM as well, to guide the clinical screening for anxiety susceptible, prevention and treatment of anxiety.Methods:Those who met the diagnostic criteria for anxiety disorders with Hamilton Anxiety Scale score over 14 points, while could not meet the exclusion criteria were included. The 76 patients included were given general information investigation, Pittsburgh Sleep Questionnaire Index (PSQI) score, Type A behavior Questionnaire (TABQ) score, Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) score and Chinese medical information investigation.Results:1, The results from the comparison of different genders for dysphoria HAMA total scores showed that the score of female patients was more than that of male's (P <0.05).2, The research of correlation of A-type behavior and anxiety showed that A-type personality were 45 cases,59.21 percent of the total, intermediate behavioral were 26 cases,34.21% of the total, and B-type character were 5 cases,6.58% of total.A-type personality anxiety scores were significantly higher than those who were non-A-type personality patients (P<0.01). There were positive correlation among A-type personality score, TH score, CH score and anxiety scores (P<0.01).3, From the relevance of personality and anxiety, we could find there was significant statistically significant positive correlation between N personality score and anxiety (P<0.01), while it was not for E, P scores (P> 0.05).4, The relationship between anxiety and insomnia:PSQI score, sleep quality and sleep time and anxiety scores were significantly correlated (P<0.05). However, comparing of severe anxiety and mild to moderate insomnia in patients, it was no significant difference.5, Insomnia, irritability, restlessness, forgetfulness, and impatient irritability occurred with the rate more than 80% rate. Thus, we could regard them as the core symptom of patients in this study with anxiety. For the high-frequency symptoms with occurrence rate over 50%, we applied cluster analysis, combined with my professor's experience, and analyzed the results of the clustering analysis, comprehensively. Eventually come to common syndromes of anxiety disorders and pathogenesis evolution.In this study, the most common type of anxiety disorders was abnormality of heart and kidney. In addition, liver-qi stagnation, fire of heart and liver, Yang stasis, mind malnutrition, phlegm dampness and many other syndromes showed in this study.Conclusion:Gender has something to do with pathogenesis of anxiety disorders. Women were more likely suffering from anxiety disorders, and had higher scores than men. A-type character and N personality are closely related with the anxiety disorders. In addition, the core symptoms of anxiety disorder were insomnia, irritability, restlessness, forgetfulness, and impatient irritability. Syndromes of anxiety disorders can be summarized as four types, namely, abnormality of heart and kidney, liver-qi stagnation, fire of heart and liver, Yang stasis, mind malnutrition, phlegm dampness.
