PurposeTrough the clinical investigational research, build up a data base for the constitutional/emotional/personal characteristics for the Primary Insomnia. Explore the inter-relationship of Primary Insomnia's constitution/emotion and personal characteristics. Especially to explore the type Abehavior Primary Insomnia patients' relationship of "CH" and "TH" Build up a firmly theory evidence for the treatment of Primary Insomnia.MethodInvestigated 115 Primary Insomnia patients collected from the Psychosleep specialized of Guangdong Hospital of TCM and 69 normal sleep volunteers originally from the same hospital by questionnaires. The questionnaires included BDI/STAI/TABQ/PSQI/SRSS and the TCM constitution scale. Except the TCM constitution scales were rated by the doctors, all the other questionnaires ware filled in by the patients and the volunteers. When theclinical data was collected enough, use the SPSS13.0 analysis software to build up a data base and do the statistics. The following statistical methods of the data were adopted: descriptive analysis use frequencies; measurement data were analyzed with analysis of variance; correlation datawere analyzed with Spearman correlations, enumeration data were analyzedwith chi-square test;α=0.05.Results①The Primary Insomnia group includes 115 patients in total. Aging fr om 24-50. Male are 43.5%, female are 56.5%.②The QIZHIZHI constitutionis most popular (28.7%) in the Primary Insomnia group, then the YANGXUZHI (18.3%),SHIREZHI (15.7%), QIXUZHI (13.0%). The PINGHEZHI, YINXUZHI,YUXUEZHI, TANSHIZHI and YUXUEZHI constitutions only occupy 15.65%.③Thetotal scores and factor scores of PSQI in the Primary Insomnia were significance than the control group (P<0.05).The most significance factors were sleep efficiency (2.50), then subject sleep quality (1.95).④The totalscores of BDI, STAI-SAI, STAI-TAI in Primary Insomnia group were higher than the control group (P<0.05).⑤Type A behavior were 26.09%, Type A- behavior were 39.10%, and the other behavior were 34.81% in Primary Insomnia group. Insomnia with Type A behavior (P<0.05). The "TH" scores were significance than the "CH" scores in control group with Type A behavior (P<0.05).⑥The relation within the whole investigated group of PSQI/BDI/SAI/TAI/TABQ/TH/CH were positive correlation. The coefficient of correlations were between 0.479~0.898; The PINGHEZHI and PSQI,BDI,SAI,TAI,TABQ,TH,CH were significance negative correlated, the coefficient of correlationswere between -0.217~-0.443: The QIZHIZHI and PSQI,BDI,SAI,TAI,TABQ,CH were positive correlated, the coefficient of correlations were between-0.183~-0.248; the SHIREZHI and PSQI,TAI,TABQ,CH were positive correlated, the coefficient of correlations were between -0.172~-0.218.ConclusionThe Primary Insomnia have specific constitutional tendency, mainly behave on the QIZHIZHI and QIXUZHI. The Primary Insomnia occurs many kindsof sleep confusion, the most significance were low sleep efficiency and objective sleep quality declined. It is in command that the Primary Insomnia has the tendency of state-anxiety, trait anxiety and state depression.Type A behavior is the popular characteristic behavior. The factors "hostility" and "time emergency" were both positive correlated with the Primary Insomnia and the "hostility" factor was seen as more obvious. The correlation between Insomnia/depression/state anxiety/trait anxiety/Type A behavior and the factor "hostility" and "time emergency" were obvious. The affect each others. The QIZHIZHI were easier to be accompany with insomnia/depression/state-trait anxiety/type A behavior and the "hostility" behavior.According to the rule upon, we can figure out a sequence therapy program to the Primary Insomnia.
