This paper aims at studing the chemical composition and antifungal effect of Rumex patientia L.var.eallosusF. Sehm. et Maxim.Macroporous resin column chromatography and silica gel column chromatography were used and 4 anthraquinones compounds in Rumex patientia L.var.eallosusF. Sehm. et Maxim were isolated and purified. Identification by use of thin layer chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry, by comparison with the standard eventually, it is determined that the 4 compounds were emodin(Ⅰ) , chrysophanol(Ⅱ), emodin-8-O-β-D glucoside(Ⅲ) and chrysophanol-8-O-β-D glucosidase(Ⅳ).Filter paper method were used to select the antibacterial activity of 4 different parts of solvent extracts , and the layer of Ethyl Acetate was active. furthermore, it is showed that compoundⅠ(emodin) andⅡ(chrysophanol) both have bacteriostatic action on Dermatophytes, but compoundⅡwas stronger than compoundⅠ, inhibition of Ethyl Acetate was stronger than both compoundⅠandⅡ. Minimal inhibitory concentration(MIC) of Ethyl Acetate layer was 30mg/ml on Koxmo Tinea Bacteria and 120mg/ml on Candida Albicans.Use ultra-high performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) to determine content of Emodin and Chrysophanol simultaneously, which was simple, rapid, economical and applicable. The results showed that total Emodin in Rumex patientia L.var.eallosusF. Sehm. et Maxim was not less than 0.16%, and total Chrysophanol was not less than 0.09%.Different producing area of Rumex patientia L.var.eallosusF. Sehm. et Maxim and Rumex patientia L.var.eallosusF. Sehm. et Maxim correspond to different Infrared Spectrum, through cluster analyzing and similarity comparing, the medicinal materials can be classified by producing area, meanwhile, genetic relationship can be investigated. This research provide a beneficial reference to other medicinal materials especially which can not effectively identified by traditional morphological, physical and chemical method. This research lay a foundation for utilization, developing and quality controlling of Rumex patientia L.var.eallosusF. Sehm. et Maxim.
