Abstract:This thesis is the study of Thomas·Hardy's magnum opus《Tess Of The D'Urbervilles》. The thesis primary probe into the philosophic thinking that Hardy revealed by the novel's protagonist such as Tess and other people's fate and character and existent circumstance. The keynote of the philosophic thinking is deep bemoan the state of the universe and pity the fate of humankind. This kind of philosophic thinking basically incarnate into six parts. Part one is the thinking and sigh with emotion of human being's fate;part two is commanding the attention of macrocosm; part three is the deep-seated connotation that discover by character's sensitive mind; part four is the different meanings that caused by environment of primitive simplicity; part five is the character's vital deadweight and freedom; part six is Hardy's complicated complex toward religion. As we know, Hardy is the great writer with philosophic religionary and cosmic. The philosophic thinking in the novel of《Tess Of The D'Urbervilles》is very helpful for the people of the time defeat the desire for material, purify their hearts, bemoan the state of the universe and pity the fate of humankind.
