Liao Dynasty Kegon Thought

Kegon(Huayan) Thought is the product of an important theory in China, and Liao Kegon Thought (the Kegon Thought of Liao dynasty in China) is an important ideological component of Kegon Thought.The research of this Thought has an important significance. The content of this thesis is the history and main characteristics of Liao Kegon Thought.It try to discuss the investigated beliefs, ideological characteristics of Liao Kegon Thought and Kegon Faith for the way of concept history.The papers include the following three contents:The first part is the substance of Kegon Buddhism in the Liao Dynasty,and the historical background and practical foundation of Liao Kegon Thought. The part including an overview of the basic situation of Buddhism in Liao Dynasty, the biographies of representative person to introduce of Liao Kegon Buddhism (the experience of their study life and representative works),the distribution of temple and related introduction of the most important religious of Kegon Buddhism in Liao Dynasty, etc.From these contents,we can learn the academic culture and developed history of Liao Kegon Thought.The second part is about the representative work of Liao Hua Kegon School,which are an analysis and discussion about Avatamsaka Sutra and Dari Sutra with Kegon tought.The article discuss two perspectives ideological characteristics of Liao Kegon Thougt,which are the "Revival of Kegon Thought in Tang Dynasty" and "Interpretation of Tantric classic with Kegon thought".There are three ideological characteristics of Liao Kegon Thought:Firstly, the Liao Kegon Thought inherited the inner logic thought of Kegon School in Tang Dynasty; Secondly, Liao Kegon School make the thought of Cheng Guan as the core content, which conforms tothe trend of the integration of Chinese Buddhist thought;Thirdly, The combination of Kegon and Esoteric Thought is the most important ideological performance of Simplify and secular trends,which indicates the possibility of another development of China Kegon Thouht.The third part is the relations of Kegon Thought and Liao society. This article discusses the relationship and meaning of Liao Kegon Faith from the lower social class (folk Buddhism believers) and the upper class (nobility and the imperial scholar-officials), and analys the causes of ideological characteristics of Liao Kegon Thouht from the people's faith and political needs. Revealed the interactive relationship between religious thought and social existence.
