The Notes Of The Yuan Dynasty The Word Theory And Practice

Yuan Dynasty is a feudal dynasty which established by minority nationalities, although it ruled China only a short time,but Yuan Dynasty is a important period in the history of the development of Chinese literature and language. The research of word segmentation and frequency statistic on the corpus of Yuan Dynasty not only can be used as a supplement for modern Chinese information processing,but also as the foundational work of studying the principles of neoteric Chinese word segmentation and developing Chinese automatic word segmentation system.On the basis of the achievements of previous research, this paper chooses twelve literary notes of Yuan Dynasty to investigate the words of this period's literary notes. We use network resources to build a closed corpus and segment and index the words by defining the standard of word segmentation. After carrying out the statistics, we use the scientific method of computing to analyse and explain the words and get the statistics of the words frequency of Yuan Dynasty literary notes which provides reliable materials for further research on the words of Yuan notes. We use the synchronic research to describe the words of Yuan Dynasty notes in order to outline the basic characteristics of the words of Yuan Dynasty notes. The paper also tries to find out the basic rules of Chinese words development from Yuan Dynasty to the contemporary era by the comparison of the words frequency list of Yuan Dynasty notes with the 8000 frequent words of"Dictionary of Modern Chinese Words Frequency".
