Under The Perspective Of Cultural Transmission Function Of The Confucius Institute Of Research

As a nonprofit public-spirited organization established in the way of Sino -foreign joint venture six years ago, Confucius institute have been concentrating on meeting people's demand of learning Chinese, promoting people's understanding of Chinese Culture, strengthening the international communication and setting up a harmonious world. The Confucius institute is not only an international Chinese language education organization, but also a center of cultural dissemination and interaction, it undertakes the responsibility of spreading Chinese culture and promoting the multicultural development in the world. It is very important to strengthen the the research concerning the function of Confucius institute to guarantee its long-term development and to the setting up of a harmonious world.This paper is based on the systemic mode theory of cultural transmission, and thinking Confucius institute as a culture disseminator with the content of Chinese Culture and the purpose of setting up of a harmonious world . There are four functions that Confucius institute should develop: Selecting the content and integrating the essence of Chinese cultural; Selecting Chinese language teachers and training them; Organizing Chinese culture teaching and advocating activities of cultural transmission; Evaluating the effect of cultural transmission and adjusting the strategy timely.On the basis of the interview surveys to Chinese language teachers from 6 Confucius institutes , this paper then investigates the present condition of function implementation of Confucius institute , and find the factors that influencing the function implementation from four aspects respectively .In the end , some related countermeasures to strengthen the effect of Confucius institute are suggested.
