Han Ethical Incentive

Ethics motivation, as positive guidance of political order maintenance and national publicity values propaganda, plays an important role in moral construction in ancient Chinese society. Based on the lessons of death of Qin dynasty, ethics motivation of Han dynasty is the inevitable requirement in the reconstruction of ethics new order in Han dynasty. At present, the research of ethics motivation by scholars at home and board, is usually in individual paper or one aspect of works. System research of ethics motivation has not yet appeared. The author firstly define the concept of "ethics motivation", then from different aspects, like background, content, characteristics, effects of ethics motivation, makes a comprehensive and systematic investigation from perspective and methods of historical sociology. Specifically, the paper can be divided into the following sections:Firstly, this paper discusses the background of ethics motivation in Han dynasty, mainly from economic, social, ideological factor, these three aspects. Filial piety ethics motivation is the essential of stabilizing small peasant economy and guaranteeing the development of small peasant economy. Meanwhile, filial piety plays an important part role in maintenance of social order and running country, especially the function in maintenance of rural coexist order. Based on the lessons of death of Qin dynasty tyranny, in the early of Han dynasty the rulers implemented inaction thought of Huanglao. When the emperor Wudi adopted Dong Zhongshu's suggestion of "Ousted hundred, Accepted the only Confucianism", Confucianism gradually become social mainstream ideology. The Confucian advocated the idea of filial piety deepening and strengthening further. All of the provides ideological basis and theoretical support for Han dynasty ethics motivation expansion and the establishment of new ethics order.Secondly, the author makes a specific study on the content of Han dynasty ethics motivation, from filial piety, loyalty, chastity, virtuousness and so on, five aspects in motivation. Han dynasty ethics motivation mainly divides into motivation in material and spirit. And the central and local governments commend, encourage the filial piety, loyalty, chastity, virtuous people, to maintain the Han dynasty order and continuous rights and promote forming a good morality to maintain the political order and continuous regime through exempting taxation, rewarding and increasing food, promoting official position and confering hou, drawing one's portrait and making to shrine.Thirdly, the author reveals the features of Han dynasty ethics motivation through research of concept of ethics motivation. The main features of ethics motivation are diversity ways, progressive process, continuous time and unbalanced proportion in encouraging methods.Finally, on the basis of the study of Han dynasty, the paper describes the effect of ethics motivation. Positive effects mainly are political effect, cultural effect and social effects, which play dominant role, while we also should not ignore negative effects. Anyhow, Han dynasty ethics motivation provides a basic ethical form for 2,000 years' China traditional society.
