Less Onset Of New Words Research

As a basic unit for learning, memory and making sentences, the new words and expressions of contemporary Chinese was firstly learned since the 30s of last century. Since the reforming and opening, new words and expressions has been paid more attention than before. Relative researching results are as follows mainly:At initial stages of us, some said that a dictionary of new words and expressions should be edited. Few notebooks of new words and expressions appeared at the same time. At metaphases and afternoon of it, many dictionaries of new words and expressions were published. Discusses of theory developed greatly. Since 90s, new words and expressions are found and collected each year. There is also some breakthrough in the aspect of research of theory.Although former research have covered a wide and deep range, it still need improve, for example:frequent words and expressions are deeply focused on, but the unfrequented not; its explanation of new words and expressions is limited within the traditional frame, which only studied the extension, deflation and the transition of the meaning of the word, and the principles of organization of Chinese's words and expressions are usually researched according to the English syntax. When it introduced a brand-new theory to explain new words, former research usually add Chinese material to it, and seldom took fact of Chinese into account.Owing to the disadvantages of former research, this dissertation has the following ideas:with regard to the selection of language material, the first-hand collection is mainly practiced, and borrow some products from the authorities at the same time, and then has a thorough inspection of the low-frequency new words and expressions used in the newspapers and articles during the period of 2005 and 2010; with reference to linguistic theories, it tries to use both cultural linguistics and social linguistics to explain the sauce, class, trait and living of the low-frequency new words, aiming to have overall outlook in them; as to the researching method, this dissertation adopts the combination of diachronic and synchronic investigation, static and dynamic inspection, description and explanation, analysis and classification.This dissertation introduces former researching results, and in addition, supplements them with the following contents:1.The sources of the low-frequency new words and expressions are mainly formed in the original way, four kinds are listed. When it study the traits of the low-frequency new words and expressions, several kinds of relationships between words and society and social moods are unfolded. It proves that the frequency of the low-frequency new words and expressions is hard to make certain by testing some words frequency. The reason for the creation of the low-frequency new words and expressions with human moods and social culture is analyzed with support from ordinary linguistics, cultural linguistics and social linguistics. That wheather and when a new word is widely accepted, how to judge a new word, normal or unnormal, is all discussed.
