The Yellow River marks the border between Shaanxi and Shanxi provinces to west and east. From 1920 until now, there have been found plenty of pictorial Stones of Han Dynasty that in Shaanxi and Shanxi provinces. They are listed as pictorial Stones of Han Dynasty and they are concentrated in different areas of the two provinces.There are a great deal of similarities such as stone texture, subject selection, carving techniques. There are also differences. Many scholars discuss about the stones found in Jinxi area. The research on this area was not been as complete as in other areas and still remains vague. To some extent, the relation between the pictorial Stones form Shaanxi and Shanxi provinces is relative and a bit unclear. This essay focuses on the basic research on the inheritance of the pictorial Stones in Shaanxi and Shanxi provinces. I also try to make it clear the relation between pictorial Stones in the two provinces as well as find out the unique characteristics.This essay is divided into 5 parts:The first part, on the basis of the relevant issue in past researches, remarks the necessity of this essay,then sets up the identification of the subject,advanced the difficulties in the progress of the research.It also marks an explanation about the innovation of the essay and shortage in the finally result.The second part advances that there is a relation between the relief stone sculptures in the two places, and the possibility of transmission of techniques form one province to the other;This ideas based on the the many similarities in the choice of subject matter, technique, type of stone and the treatment of pictures in the two places.The third part because the natural location and cultural environment are similar in Northern Shaanxi province and Shanxi province, they have natural convenient convenient conditions for communication. According to the exist time,from the fifth year of Yonghe (AD140) to make a connection to the fifth year of Xihe Junzhi Yonghe(AD140),and the history Pingding moved to Lishi, We can say there is a great relationship between the discovery of Lishi pictorial stone and the inland migration of Xihe Junzhi, with the historical recods and content on the pictorial stone,The essay analyses the contribution of the pictorial stone in Northern Shaanxi province to Jinxi area.The fourth part summarizes Jinxi pictorial stone formation, distribution, and characteristics. It also analyzes the pictorial Stones in Jin xi inheritance form of Shaanxi pictorial Stones in form of the the stone in the implied cultural implications.The fifth part talks about the formation, and development of the pictorial Stones Jinxi region, and the pictorial Stones of Han Dynasty within a society that was coming to the end and experienced drastic changes, so the paper draws a simple conclusion of the decline of the pictorial Stones of Han Dynasty. Finally the paper concludes that the problem still remains unsolved.
