Horror Movie Behind The Cultural Values

Since 1895, the birth of film as an art form has been triggered horror movies to its audiences fears and become an enduring film genres. Despite the horror movies on the road in their development several times encountered a low ebb, but horror movies in the global film market is now set off a wave of popular unrest. In recent years, hundreds of millions of viewers scrambling to enter the cinema to watch horror movies. While the horror film as a type of enduring film, but a long time, scholars discussed the few horror movies, horror movies in a long gap of a state. This paper in terms of culture and social psychology point of view to illustrate popular horror movies in the world behind the profound cultural and social reasons, highlighting the cultural values of horror movies, horror film as a cultural interpretation of context. This article is divided into four parts. The first part introduces the development history of horror movies. The second part ,starting from the crisis of Western rationalism, Western rationalism off criticism and reflection, which shares thoughts on critical rationalism led to the popular horror movie. The third part of traditional culture from the east ,encountered in the modernization process had a profound cultural crisis starting in the traditional oriental culture under the impact of modernization, facing cultural transformation, the transformation process, the traditional culture had lost subjectivity, resulting in As anxiety, which led to the popularity of horror movies in the East.
