This paper analyses the Tang Lute's culture from the view of the whole society cultural life, through the exploring of music instrument, music, musician as well as Lute player aspects. It discusses some issues concerned to the forms of Tang Lute and it's symbolism formation, the production of the Lute and the producer, learning and instruction as well as the use of the Tang Lute.It clarifies the research rang and the target of this paper and reviews the existing research history of the Lute in the Introduction. The author has pointed that the writing style of the Lute history shifting from history and music to instrument and the lute player was happened in Tang Dynasty.The first chapter focuses on the instrument analysis that divides the Lute into preceding period and the complete period according to some basic elements such as whole box and having the Emblem. It can declare that the complete Lute has been made in the late of Han based on the resource of archeology and manuscripts.The second chapter studies the production of Lute and the producer. The author states the identity diversity of the producers that there were some professional producers and the production families'generation after generation occurred in Tang Dynasty. The professional producers made the Lute production Programmable in order to get the great benefits or changed the production skill to meet the marketing.It elaborates the learning style of Tang musician that they paid more attention on the fine music studying rather than playing skill by traveling around the nation in the third chapter. Tang musician preferred the fine music than the more one. Some musicians kept their instruction ruler based on their believes of the music theory as well as the spiritual of Chinese scholars. The musicians who unwilling to teach music was hardly found in Tang. The legend of god instruction was occurred in Tang due to many famous lute players by travel studying and without teachers'instruction.The forth chapter explores the use of Lute in Tang Dynasty that divides into two parts: Lute in the Palace and in the popular. The position of Lute raised and the extent of Lute's music acceptable in the Palace meant an important cultural representation that the Tang Rulers had been gradually blended into Han culture. The article also focuses on the use of Lute in the popular in term of the society position of the players. The author thinks the Lute's culture in Tang Dynasty was hardly influenced by the idea of Buddhism by researching on the Lute and woman as well as the Lute and monk.
