The Qian Gurong Of Literary Criticism

The assertion"literature is the study of man"which was put forward by Qian Gurong in 1957 has been widely accepted and applied in contemporary literature theoretical circle. Since Qian Gurong's famed academic thesis"Literature is the Study of Man"emerged, his name was established tight contact with Chinese literature theoretical circle and literature critical field. When experts at home and aboard since the literature elders, his literature criticism was mentioned, but systemic thesis didn't come into our eyes, that is the reason why I write this master's thesis. The purpose of this paper is to explore the contribution this literature elder devoted to our domestic literature critical circle.The full text consists of three parts: the first part analyzes Qian Gurong's literature criticism is different from temporal mainstream, not only a rebellious behavior to mainstream but also harmonization to social conscience; and then accounts for Mr Qian's thought is a kind of inherit development and promotion to"May 4th period"Zhou Zuoren's"Human's Literature"and Lu Xun's"make one conduct oneself in society"thought in that specific era.The second part analyzes Qian Gurong's critical feelings. In the part how and why Mr Qian's scatter complex emerge are explained.The third part analyses Mr Qian's critical criterion. The"human"criterion Mr Qian offered includes humanitarianism and people-oriented feature. Humanitarianism Mr Qian expound is one part of literature when it came into being, it is perceptual. It is the lowest literature critical criterion. In our republic of letters, Mr Qian first break through the cognition, that most commenter put people-oriented feature in ancient literature. At the same time, he pointed out that people-oriented feature, humanitarianism and realism combine, not isolated.
