.1949-1966 Poetry Theory And Criticism Study

This paper studies theories and criticisms of the modern new poetry from 1949 to 1966. It involves some theoretical topics ,form of theories and criticisms and some important critics of theory. The theoretical topics includes forms and freedom in the new rhythem of poetry and theories of lyrics and narrative poems. On the discussion of the new rhythem of poetry, three representative views which reflect the width and depth of the theoretical issues in the history and the possibility of producing new theories related to them are chosen. These views are Ai Qing抯 theories on free Verse, theories on semi-free verse of Zang Kejia and theories on metrical poetry of He Qifang, Bian Zhilin and Lin Geng .As to the second issue ,the theories about lyric and narrative poetry and the display of how these theories are restricted under the existing situation of the day are represented through analyzing theories of Shen Renkang and An Qi .Througli the analysis of Shen Renkang抯 criticisms on lyric theories, the paper explains how the study of lyric theories and criticisms widen the space for further study under the constraints of rules. The theoretical issues in An Qi抯 text criticisms have general values in a certain degree. At the same time ,how the main ideological form penetrates into the theories of narrative poetry is also explained. In order to reflect the form of theories and criticisms on contemporary poetry, two critics of theory, A-Long and Sha-Ou respectively at the early time of the foundation of PRC and in the Period of 慉gainst the Right?movement(1957)which are two critical periods not only for the whole society, but for the development of poetic theories and criticisms are selected as examples to anlayse.most of A-Long抯 poem criticisms were written before the resolution of china,and in the early period of new china, a few of his collections were published which was considered a great event in the field of new poetic theories and criticisms at that time. Through interpretation and analysis of his works, reader will have a better understanding of the contest between different theories, criticisms and ideological forms in that period. From analyzing Sha Ou and his poetic criticisms ,the great 搇ectural? competence of the atmosphere in the movement of 揂gainst the Right?and the inner weakness of those critics of theories in special period are presented .Through the analysis of A Long抯 and Sha Ou抯 works, we can ftuther understand the power contest between the contemporary poetic theories and criticisms. All of the analysis of representative theories and critics above enable us to grasp not only theories of the representative critics, but the theoretical issues of the day. The purpose of this paper is to make readers grasp the contest between different theories and criticisms of the modem new poetry as well as their growth and decline in the competition. Meanwhile, the paper also displays some valuable achievements made in the process of exploring those theoretical issues.
