Ci poetry, called 搇iterature of music?, is a kind of combination of music and literature. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the combinative state between Ci poetry and music so that the Ci poerty抯 artistic characteristics would be expounded thoroughly and comprehensively. There are seventeen songs to which the music score has attached, among Songs of hang kui, composed by Jiang kui, a famous poet in Southern Song Dynasty, is the only music score of Ci poetry circulated through the whole Song Dynasty. The thesis dicusses the artistic characteristics of Song Ci from two aspects set rules of Ci poetry and theory of music, and particular emphasis is laid on Rhyme and Gong Diao. And on what has already been achieved, the thesis focuses on two considerably more important muisc score of Sothern and Northern forms of drama in later ages, one of which is the Music Score of J1扙J Ski , the other the Music Score of flu Gong Da Cheng, for tryingto find the clues of music of Ci poetry ciculated through the Southern and Nouthern forms of drama. The thesis points out that the music of Ci poetry has been closely related to the set rules of Ci poetry which is, in fact, the external formalization of Ci poetry.Some of the problems such as the Leval? Oblique桾ones and Four桾ones., the Entering Tone Classification into Three桾ones and the Oralization and Dialectization of Rhyme and so on, all of which are claimed by music, could be found the basis among Jiang Kui抯 songs;that Jiang Kui抯 songs belong to the system of Tang桽ong払anquet Music, although there is a tendency towards the refined music, and they can represent the main style and feature of Song Ci as a result of assimulating the artistic characteristics of the folk songs;that the music of Ci poetry has not been dead during the later generations. the clues could be traced in the Sothern and Northern forms of drama.
