Fu Xuan Wei And Jin Dynasties, The Occasion Of Poetic Style Change

The period from Han dynasty to WeiJin dynasty was a turbulent and reformatory age. The literature of this period, especially the poetry appeared a complicated tendency. As two peaks of poetic creation, JianAn and Taikang represented two different poetic styles. From JianAn to TaiKang, most scholars? attention is mainly drawn on ZhengShi poets, such as RuanJi and JiKang. In fact, FuXuan who lived in the time between Wei and Jin dynasty was also an important poet. We can find the developing track of WeiJin poetic style more directly and distinctly through his poems, but the study of it is not enough.. In this thesis, the author attempts to make an inquiry into FuXuan's literary thinking and poetic creation, find his inheritance and innovation, achievements and defects in the literary current of WeiJin dynasty, and look for the reasons about it. This thesis consists of three sections. Section One, FuXuan's literary thinking in WeiJin dynasty. There are four Kinds literary thinking. First, to advocate elegance and further purport of the literature whose forms suit to contents; second, to insist on describing something truly, and object to incredible contents; Third, to emphasize literary style and advocate imitation; The last is to oppose simplicity and vulgarity while advocate elegance and refinement. Section Two, FuXuan's poetry in the innovation of poetic style between Wei and Jin dynasty. First, the inheritance and innovation of YueFu poetry. FuXuan's YueFu poetry can be divided into three parts. The first one that with former titles and contents was the result of imitation from Han dynasty, but overlooked the innovation of JianAn poets, reflecting an imitative tendency; The second one that composed of former titles and new contents was the continuance of JianAn poetry with innovation and development; The last one, the creative YueFu poetry could express emotion more freely, and at the same time, artistic techniques were concerned. In short, FuXuan's YueFu poetry played an important role in the history of Chinese poetry. Second, the developing track of FuXuan's poetic style. Although FuXuan and ZhengShi poets all studied JianAn poetic style, they developed two different poetic styles. As a matter of fact, FuXuan and his followers?literary creation became the mainstream of TaiKang poetic field. It can be shown in three points: the expansion of the poetic subject, the delication of the emotional expressing, the refinement of the form. From this, we can find distinctly the innovation of poetic style between Wei and Jin dynasty. Third, the innovation of poetic varieties. FuXuan's creational most covered all varieties of poetry that appeared in WeiJin dynasty. Compared with contemporary poets, FuXuan was a significant poet who advanced the innovation of Poetic varieties. Section Three, the reasons of the innovation of FuXuan's poetic style. Besides his literary thinking, other factors affected FuXuan's unique style, such as his complicate and contradictory outlook, the unsteady social environment, the elegance oriented process of poetry, etc. In the history of Chinese poetry, FuXuan wasn't a great poet, but in the special period of innovation of poetic style, he was indeed an important poet who undoubtly served as a bridge in the peiod from JianAn to ZhengShi.
