Mourning, as one of the cores of Chinese traditional ethic morality, has always been attached importance and advocated, especially in the period of WEI-JIN-NAN-BEI dynasty, the powerful families had actually controlled the whole country, which had the theories and practices about mooring made a deeper and wider progress. The rulers at that time managed to use their authority to play up and generalize so-so mourning, so that mourning was involved in the all sorts of state affairs for example, practice, law, moralities and culture etc., in the end, mourning was considered as the core of ethic morality in the whole society. You see, mourning was only a family quality at earlier time, but, if compared with other feudal dynasties, the theories about mourning has basically been formed a system, as well as the practical forms was more complicated. Even at the same time produced some abnormality and pedantry. But as for the development of mourning, it has been mature after practical intensified by rulers in the WEI-JIN-NAN-BEI dynasty. In additions, it also had some its characteristics. Although mourning was still panegyric by following dynasties, there were not too much new breakthroughs in its theory and practice. Generally speaking, Family power was the brightest time characteristics in WEI-JIN-NAN-BEI dynasty, I try to placed mourning into the background of family power, so as to discuss primarily the origin, characteristics, manifest, and reasons and so on.
