Maltese Poetry And Du Fu's Poetry Content Comparative Study

This dissertation is divided into three parts. The first part gives an introduction of Maltese history and Maltese poems. It also gives background information about the great Chinese poet Du Fu who lived during the Tang Dynasty period.The second part deals with the biography of some of the famous Maltese poets who embarked to write in Maltese, to express their love for Malta and its language. Through their selected poetry one may get a feeling of the social life of the Maltese people at that time. This chapter also deals with a biography of the famous Chinese poet Du Fu and some of his poems. These poems have been selected as a comparison between this great Chinese writer who lived in the 8tIi century and the Maltese poets who lived practically one thousand years latei~The third chapter deals with a comparative study of some of the poems written by Du Fu and selected poems written by famous Maltese poets. Finally, there is also the concluding remarks of my study.
