| Chinese language teaching in Mal ta began in 2004.Since the establishment of the Confucius institute at the University of Malta,Chinese language teaching in Malta has developed rapidly and has been successfully incorporated into the higher education and secondary education credit system in Malta.A study of the current situation of Chinese teaching in Malta can not only enrich the content of Chinese teaching in the world,but also provide reference and Suggestions on how to promote Chinese language and Chinese cultur e in micro-countries.Through the internship in the Confucius insti tute of t he Uni vers i ty of Malta,the author has collected a large number of materials on Mal tese Chinese teaching,and has a comprehensive grasp of the current situati on of Mal tese Chi nese teaching.This art icle has been conducted through the literature analysis,questionnaire,interview,and observation to conduct a full investigation and study of the Malttese Chinese teaching situation.Firstly,the author summari zes the general si tuation of Mal tese education and the development of Maltese Chinese teaching through collecting literature and field invest igation.Secondly,around the teaching organization,curriculum,teachers,teaching material usage,students of Malta makes concrete analysis of the current situation of Chinese teaching.And then,by using the questionnaire,class observation and so on to i nvestigate the l earning moti vat ion and the atti tude of the parents of middle school students to learn Chinese language in Mal tese mi ddle school.And the investigation on Chinese learners of Maaltese adult that include Chinese culture and Chi nese language learn,t he expectat ion of teachers and textbooks,suggestions on the library of Confucius Institute at the University of Malta,and the stati stical anal ysis on survey data,and then stati sti cal analysis of the collected data.Finally,the article analyzes the opportunities and achievements of Chinese teaching in Malta,and summarizes the probl ems in Mal tese Chinese teaching and proposes reasonable solutions.I hope thi s paper can provide a reference for the development of other Confucius institutes. |
