The epigraphy is one of the closest subjects with calligraphy, and Song and Qing dynasties are two most thriving dynasties. Commonly speaking, the boom of calligraphy in the metaphase of Qing dynasty has tight relations with the flourishing of epigraphy of the time. However, why the similarly thriving epigraphy in Song dynasty could not bring the same result? From four aspects, such as catalogue, character抯 contents, textual research and picture of metals and stones, I draw the outline of the epigraphy of Song and Qing dynasties first. And then, we can find three differences about the epigraphic research and the relation between epigraphy and calligraphy in Song and Qing dynasties In the first place, from collect and textual research aspect, metals was laid particular stress in Song dynasty, whereas stones were emphasized in Qing dynasty. Furthermore, in Qing dynasty the vogue of searching for steles and the mature of copying technical provided better model for calligrapher. Secondly, from the aspect of aesthetic opinion about calligraphic works in books of inscriptions, steles in Bei Wei and Bei Qi dynasties were belittled in Song dynasty, but steles in Han and Wei dynasties were appraised highly in Qing dynasty, which reflected epigraphist抯 different aesthetic interests. Thirdly, from the aspect of the epigraphist抯 calligraphic practice in the two dynasties, most of Song抯 epigraphists did not canonize the steles in Han and Wei dynasties, but the reverse is true in Qing抯 epigraphists.Since that, which era抯 background brought such different influences? I believe there are two reasons at least. First, bookman抯 polity in Song dynasty and character抯 prisons in Qing dynasty brought diverse impacts on bookman抯 feelings of invention. Second, from the respect of rule of calligraphic development, Song and Qing dynasties separately lied in flourishing and declining sites of copybook抯 style. Therefore, the text provides a new angle of view to realize the change of calligraphic history, and discovers many factors that affect the development of calligraphy, and finds deep-seated social and cultural reasons. All these prove that calligraphy can抰 achieve anything without support. We must place it on all the era and history backgrounds and educe some approximately conclusion about true history.Title: Different Influence and Background Analyses: Song and Qing Dynasties Epigraphy and Calligraphy...
