Corpus, The Case Grammar And English Verb Teaching

lii this paper, we propose to show how knowledge of case grammar and corpora can be used in English verb learning and therefore constitute a part of English verb learning theory called case-based English verb learning. We shall discuss corpora approach, CIA first; and next, the rationale (case grammar theory), and then the statistical i~sults of the case uses of several verbs based on two main corpora, exposing that the Chinese NNS seriously misuse, ovenise or underuse the cases of English verbs, and finally go into the investigation and analysis of the reasons and solution, hoping that the textbook compilers, teachers and N7NS will make full use of the case-based learning and the data-driven learning.
