Mingqing play (Mp) developed from Yuan play but refination made it changed greatly . It is important to study refination of the Mingqing play for the literature.In history nobody have studied the whole development of the Mingqing play as I do today . I separate the development into four phases : Early days of Ming dynasty is its bud time , in this time it is mainly written by nobility and it mainly recorded the life of them . The evening of the ming is its growing time . It is mainly written by bookmen and recorded their lives , and the rules of the North play was being broke . In the early days of Qing dynasty , refination reached its height. It was almost written by bookmen and became the copy of the lives of the bookmen so that it became the play of the bookmen , and most rules of play has been broken . hi the evening of the Qing dynasty , Mingqing play came to its ends because of its refination .Refination is incarnated in the subject matter character idea of the Mingqing play .In the first place its subject matter derived from actual history or lives of bookmen ; Secondly most of its characters are bookmen or the citizen who have the idea of bookmen ; Thirdly its idea betrayed the orthodox the morality the imperial examinations and the law. In the last its spice , which shows the disappointment for politic the sigh for the rise and fall of the nation the dissolute of the bookmen, was also refined .Refination is also incarnated in the art form of the Mp . Firstly , Mp take snippet structure instead of normal one . secondly , Mp took many ways to express emotion of the characters but neglect the importance of the story, thirdly , its artistic conception was strengthened to act as metaphor , while that in normal play was very simple . In the last, the language of Mp , which should be simple and lively , is like that of poetry .hi the end of the essay , I try to find out the reason for the refination of the Mp . The most important one is literature orthodox conception that build on poetry affected Mp greatly . Secondly the author of the Mp , who were mostly bookmen , had no experience on the stage. In addition ,Southern play took a great role in the refination because of its slender and emotion.
