On The Concept Of Literature And Novels Of The Tang Dynasty

This thesis probes into the creation of novel in Tang Dynasty from the level of notion and discusses the relation between the creation of novel and the literature notion of Tang Dynasty which is categorized into novel notion, essay notion and poem notion.The novel notion is composed of Confucian novel notion, historian novel notion and literator aesthetic novel notion. These notions influence on the creation of novel together. Confucian leads the thinking trend of novel creation and made the novels of Tang Dynasty characterize with specific idea of reality, education and inclination of propaganda of goodness and depreciation of evil. Historian novel notion referring to history and inheriting historical biography and reality idea makes the novel a reflection of history. Literator aesthetic notion makes novel creation reflect its own literature character. Many romantic novel came up and emphasis on depiction techniques was popular and all these showed aesthetic character of novel. Essay notion had an impact on novel creation with aesthetic thought by pursuing uniqueness, amusing literature and relief of feelings in essays. These notions boomed the novel creation.Poem notion made some romantic poems form a certain element of novel. Poem creation was one of expressive methods in novel creation. With artistic conception and rhythm of poem infiltration in novel creation, situation depiction developed major part of novels.The influence of notions of novel, essay and poem in Tang Dynasty made the novel develop certain content and form of the style of Tang and gained the independent position and prosperity.
