Employment of reason in the reflection and judgment of everything is one of the essential features of German classical philosophy. According to the science of knowledge by Fichte, two inherent series of reason are thought and being, deriving from self-consciousness.Chapter I focuses on the construct of science of knowledge. By negating the materialistic elements and subverting thing-in-itself in Kant's philosophy, Fichte put forward the concept of ego, and Centring upon ego, he constructed the science of knowledge. Chapter II espouses the basic parts of the science of knowledge, which is a science of all sciences, metascience. There are three basic principles, namely, ego sets self, ego sets nonego, the harmony of ego and nonego. The last principle deduces theoretical and practical science of knowledge. At the same time, this chapter also probes into his viewpoints on liberty and history in the social political thoughts. Fichte regards liberty as the essence of humanity and his life is devoted to the pursuit of liberty. In his opinion, history is the very process of the development of reason, which may result in the free rein of reason in the kingdom of rational knowledge. The last chapter illustrates the methodology significance, historical status and impact of the science of knowledge. Methodology in the science of knowledge assimilates Kart's synthetic a priori judgment and triad, but differentiates from them significantly. His dialectics exercises a great impact on Hegel and Marx later on. The science of knowledge by Fichte centers upon ego, and establishes the subjectivity of human beings and elevates them. This prepares for the political revolution of the bourgeoisies theoretically. Thus his status on the development of European philosophy was firmly established. Critical assimilation of Fichte's philosophy is the unshirkable duty of philosophy workers believing in Marxism.
