There are the same element of "Restroration To the Ancient" in both of the thoughts of Rousseau and Schiller. Rousseau took up the opinion of "nature man " and "back to nature ". It appears externally that he advocated the "falling back",but in fact his true intention was to achieve the normal relation between human and society by recovering the nature of human being. Schiller yearned the unity and wholeness of persons in Ancient Greece. He tried to facilitate the flaw between Subject and Object, emotion and ration by his theory on "play". Rousseau's Primitivism and Schiller's Greekism reflected their coincidence and difference on the ideal humanity and the "alienation" of the society. Through the mainly and deeply perceivation on their thoughts we will grasp the background and development of their great ideas and describe Rousseau's influence which worked on Schiller via Kant. Simultaneously,we could get to know clearly the wider prospect of the historical and contemporary conditions of both Rousseau and Schiller's and the culture and literature of their times.
